I have worked many Baseball Clinics in the past. The way most coaches run their baseball clinics is the reason why I wanted to start my company to conduct baseball clinics. A good run baseball clinic is one that has limited down time. Baseball clinics should be a fast pace baseball clinic. The players should go from one station to another at a quick rate to allow the baseball clinic to run smoothly. Many baseball clinics fail b/c of these issues. Baseball Clinics should also be a fun environment for the attending instructors. Many times at a Baseball Clinic coaches that show up to the baseball clinic and have no clue in which post to go to. A proper ran baseball clinic will have an easy schedule for each attending baseball clinic instructor.
Baseball clinics should be enjoyable for the parents as well to gain knowledge. Parents are the ones paying for the baseball clinic, and they should feel satisfied that their son received the best instruction and evaluation while at the baseball clinic. Baseball clinics that I have worked at seem to forget about the parents. The baseball clinic should have a set time to educate the parents in the recruiting process while at the baseball clinic.
Running a baseball clinic is not the easiest of tasks. Baseball clinics need to have a proper point man with a good personality. This is key b/c not only talking to parents and the kids, but making the employed instructors feel welcomed while at the baseball clinic. The camp director at the baseball clinic will have to show leadership skills and dignity at the baseball camp. Running a smooth baseball clinic is a job many men have failed in the past. Baseball clinics are the best way for coaches outside of an area to see scout regional kids.
Baseball clinics are a memory many kids will walk away with. Baseball clinics vs. baseball clinics are an on going debate. Baseball clinics that are run organized will rise to the top. Baseball clinics can be great baseball clinics if all these factors apply.
